I have a solution for our nation's unemployment rate.
"The Nürburgring was built to alleviate unemployment in the Eifel region of northwest Germany. From 1925 to 1927, some 25,000 persons were hired to construct the racetrack."
Glick says the SCG003 should do a 6:42. Think any car/driver will ever break 6:11?

So was the Blue Ridge Parkway, but then they ruined it by putting a speed limit on it.

Our stab at that was the Blue Ridge Parkway, and we can't even race on that. Piffle.

Most of the roads connecting to the BRP are better than the parkway and are not full of tourists. I so wish that there was a winter/spring hillclimb up NC151.

Definitely a road that needs to be shut down one weekend a year for timed runs!

This is made easier by the fact that it's closed down about five months of the year anyway. All they need to do is allow the race.

Had no idea. Man, how fun would it be to have the Thursday (?) before it opens for the season and the Monday (?) after it closes both be competition days?

It would be awesome. You'd probably want to do it before it opens since they close it once they decide that the weather's too shit. The date changes every year, and they usually close it in sections based on where it's most likely to ice over. The open date also changes yearly, but has more to do with how long it's going to take to perform repairs. I'd still opt for a straight hillclimb up one of the connecting roads, however. NC151 has about 5 miles of twisties leading up to it with no houses or side streets, so it would be really easy to do.

You should probably start a petition - ha!

I don't think anyone should break 6:11. Bellof's time deserves to stand for eternity.

It's stood for this long. I hope it can stand. But I also hope the 'Ring can continue to exist in a form much like its present state for many years to come, to give others the opportunity to contest it.
